James W. "Trip" Truluck



Florence, SC – James W. “Trip” Truluck, III, 69, passed away suddenly on Tuesday April 24, 2018.

A graveside service will be Monday, April 30, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the National Cemetery in Florence. The family will have a time of visitation from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. before the service at Layton-Anderson Funeral Home.

Mr.Truluck was born in Florence County, the son of the late James W. and Betty Campbell Truluck. He was a Real Estate Appraiser and also worked with the Florence County Tax Assessor’s office before retiring. He served his country in the US Army. Trip was a 2nd degree Black Belt in Taekwondo. His favorite pass time was golfing before his eyesight failed.

Surviving are his wife of fourteen years, Deborah Bothner Truluck; four daughters, Jolie Larson, Jelane Hubby, Crista (Scott) Ryan, Carly Hubby; a sister, Betty Gail (Johnny) Jones and his grandchildren, Harper Larson, Gracia Larson, Sam Ryan, Peter Ryan, Clair Clemons and Maddox Folinas; niece and nephew, Kelly Black and Jay F. Jones. He also leaves his feline companion of eighteen years “Sissy.”
