Obituary


Florence, SC - Donald Allen “Duck” Galloway, 68, passed away on June 7, 2017 after an illness in a local hospital.

A funeral service will be Saturday June 10, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Layton-Anderson Funeral Home. A time of visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. before the service.

“Duck” as he was known to family and friends was born in Florence County, the son of the late George Carl and Mary Parnell Galloway. He worked as a Forklift Operator at Vulcraft in Florence. He was a big GAMECOCK fan and he was an avid fisherman.

Surviving are his love of twenty-four years, Deborah Smoak, Florence; a daughter, Beth (Lee) Coleman; two sons, Paul Galloway and George Galloway both of Florence, step-sons, Jimmy (Sharon) Manship, Joey (Lee) Manship all of Darlington, Ricky (Lacy) Manship, Charlotte, NC; a brother, Jerry (Shirley) Galloway, Timmonsville; sister, Diane Duneo, Darlington and nine grandchildren, Chelsie, Kyndall, Cooper, Pru, Luke, Ian, A.J., Joyce and Roxy; and a special friend Dewey Tadlock. He is preceded in death by a daughter, Sherry Kelly and a brother, Randy Galloway.
