Timmonsville, SC, Samuel J. “Sammie” Thompson, 76, died at his residence on May 24, 2017 after a long illness.
Graveside services will be Friday, May 26, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Byrd Cemetery. The family will greet friends after the service at the cemetery.
Born in Florence County, SC, Sammie was the son of the late Boyd E and Connie Jordan Thompson.He retired from DuPont as a mechanic.Sammie attended The Life Church of
Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Brenda Brown Thompson; a son, Jay Michael Thompson, Conway; a daughter, Cynthia Parrott, Florence; a brother, Leon (Patty) Thompson, Abbeville, SC; a sister, Maxine T. Armstrong, Atlanta, GA; grandchildren, Crystal Parrott, Caroline Parrott and one great grandchild, Gabriel Treager; a special niece, Pamela Grantham, and a special friend, Renee McNeal.
Memorials may be made to the The Life Church of Florence, 3326 W. Palmetto Street, Florence, SC 29501.
